Installer is a special program for installing software product. It's typically an EXE (executable file) or MSI (a special format for installing Windows manually or via Active Directory Group Policy (GPO)). This file contains all the necessary data in compressed form and instructions for deploying the program from scratch. Installer files can sometimes be very large. For example, computer games with large resource files can reach several gigabytes in size.
