Error #0226: authorization on the mail server has failed


Error description

An error occurred when checking connection with SMTP server.

 

Problem solution

Usually all errors that deal with email service connection settings are divided into three types:

 

  1. Network settings:
    Error occurred: 11001,Host not found
    Incorrect address/port of email server (SMTP)
     
    Error occurred: 10060,Connection timed out
    The email service is no available; or you specified incorrectly the address/port of your email service; or your firewall or antivirus blocks the connection. It is also matters whether you are using encrypted connection or not.
     
  2. Incorrect user fields (login, password, email).
    Make sure you filled this fields correctly. Any detail matters.
     
  3. Email service requires additional permission for using SMTP.
    Sometimes you need to enable access over SMTP for external programs on a page for your email service settings.
